- Description: A letterhead and business card created in InDesign using a logo created in Illustrator.
- Process (Programs, Tools, Skills): I first started out by creating the logo for “Chelsea Hair Artistry” in Adobe Illustrator, which I gathered inspiration for on Pinterest. It was fun taking an image of scissors and tracing it with the pen tool for the logo. I created the business card and letterhead in InDesign. I Basically just used the rectangle tool, an image, the type tool, the line tool, and the logo to create both designs. I wanted to have repetition in my designs by adding the strips of hair. I was really pleased with how it turned out and I think the strips of hair make the message pretty clear. On the letterhead I moved the business in formation to the bottom right corner to increase visual flow.
- Message: The message for these designs is that Chelsea Hair Artistry is a professional hair styling business, and that Chelsea is an experienced Stylist.
- Audience: Anyone looking for a good professional hair stylist.
- Top Thing Learned: One of the favorites things I learned in this project was that you can link images from Illustrator to InDesign, and any changes that you make to that design in Illustrator will be linked to the one in InDesign. This feature is very convenient.
- Color scheme and color names: Monochromatic – Orange shade of Brown
- Title Font Name & Category: Nexa Light – San Serif
- Copy Font Name & Category: Nexa Light – San Serif
I really like your design. Your business card and letterhead look very professional. The way you used repetition with the bars running through the hair is a nice touch. I also like the little scissors. Great job.

Rachel, this is an awesome design! I really love the simplicity of the black bars coming across the photo of the hair. Your stationery paper looks very clean and the typography you chose it super legible. This is one of my favorite projects that I have seen so far, keep up the great work! Check out Victoria’s page, she also did a very clean design:

Again, I think this looks great Rachel. Really good job using the inspiration you found to create this for yourself. It reminds me of old pantene commercials. Very good with sticking to your message, I mean. Overall, excellent!
